You’ve been working hard through design school and you know your work is good, but becoming a design professional is a daunting leap for student-level designers. We’re bringing you Pivot :: Break the Ice, hoping to make that transition to the design world a little more exciting and manageable.
A huge part of becoming a professional designer is making friends in the industry and maintaining those relationships. We have invited professionals from the Twin Cities to share their story with you and offer insight into what they and their colleagues are looking for from recent graduates. Ken Friberg, currently a partner at Rat Race Studios, has done it all—from teaching, art direction and design to photography and videography. He’s truly a wearer of many hats. Our second guest, Bruce Bourne, is currently the Design Director at Periscope. Before managing Periscope’s print-design discipline, he broke into the profession as a Freelance Designer for Little & Company.
