Managing Health Care’s Strongest Brand: In-House Design at Mayo Clinic

Mayo Clinic is the most powerful health care brand name in the United States. When we translate Mayo Clinic to paper, the screen, the written word or any other user experience, we are interpreting and depicting the reputation of Mayo Clinic. Whenever Mayo Clinic initiates new programs, services or products, we must assure they measure up to every facet of Mayo Clinic’s image and reputation.

In Rochester, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about this brand—it’s history and values—from the in-house perspective. On-site resources include medical illustrators, designers, photographers, illustrators, animators, motion graphics, a video studio, a full-service print shop, historical archives, research design, an IT group that supports our Macs and some of the best talent to boot. (Yeah, we’ve won awards, but that’s not why we’re here.)

This event will showcase the various in-house groups, who use research and design to deliver on Mayo Clinic’s primary value: the needs of the patient come first. Encompassing all media, our in-house teams have the ability to connect brand touchpoints, and help provide a seamless experience for all.

We’re sorry to report that Coffee Break: Mayo Clinic is Sold-Out.

This event sold out quickly; however, we may be able to offer additional tickets if we hear of someone who plans not to attend. (Please contact Bonnie Lindenfelser if you have purchased a ticket but cannot attend.) Tickets must be purchased in advance and will not be available at the event.

You may sign up on the wait list to be contacted if additional tickets become available. We’ll begin contacting people on the wait list beginning April 14, starting with the first name on the list. Because we have limited volunteer resources, we’ll be unable to reply to requests asking about your position on the list or if we’ll be able to offer additional registration. Thank you for your patience and interest.

AIGA members – $30.00

Non-members – $40.00

All-inclusive package includes parking, comfortable coach transportation and lunch. The coach leaves promptly at 8:45 am from International Market Square and returns at approximately 5:00 pm.

Presented by the AIGA In-House Designers Committee

Established in 2009, the In-House Designers Committee fosters awareness and respect within the AIGA Minnesota chapter by providing resources, support, education and enhanced programming specific to their needs. With in-house designers making up roughly a third of AIGA Minnesota’s membership, the committee’s goal is to give this group a voice and enhance the connection of in-house designers to the local chapter.

  1. I already live in Rochester and would not need the coach. Would I still register at the same place at the same price? Thanks!!

  2. Hi Keri! Thank you for your interest in the upcoming Coffee Break Series event at Mayo Clinic. We understand it may be more convenient for some people to provide their own transportation; however, the cost of the bus is included in the event price and we are not able to offer a partial refund for those who do not take the bus.
