About the Design Show
The AIGA Minnesota Design Show highlights the most exceptional design work being produced in the upper Midwest and showcases the power of design in today’s culture. This annual competition is independently judged by leading design professionals from across the country and is structured around the entry’s ability to solve the problem of communicating both design’s effectiveness and aesthetic appeal. Selected entries are presented at the Design Show’s opening reception and are showcased online for the following year.
2011 AIGA Minnesota Design Show
The 2011 AIGA Minnesota Design Show is a salute to the best ideas and the designers who thought them up, fought for them and brought them to life. And while it’s destined to feature a bevy of beautiful work, it isn’t a beauty contest. Or a showcase for the trend du jour. The winning ideas will do more than just look good. They’ll move us, inspire us, challenge us, confound us, and above all make us say, “Damn, I wish I’d thought of that.”
This year, the opening reception was held on Friday, May 6 at Shelter Studios (2112 Broadway St NE # 150 Minneapolis, Minnesota. A panel discussion was held prior to the revealing of winners. Panel was moderated by Doug Powell with judges Brian Jacobs, Michael Lejeune, Mike Perry, and Petrula Vrontikis.
Winners’ submissions are now showcased on the winners’ website!
